I am currently the Director of Design at Tonic. Our mission is to “work with impact.” We are a wonderful group of nerds trying to change the world a bit at a time.

I studied design at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, graduating in 2008. I was lucky enough to study under both Martin Mendelsberg and Fred Murrel. Martin is an International poster designer and typographer focusing on Hebrew Typography. Fred is an AIGA Fellow and former VP of User Experience at Sapient. Fred is why folks like Katherine McCoy, Stefan Sagmeister, David Carson, Bill Moggridge, and Hugh Dubberly stopped by our tiny school.

In 2008, I started as an intern at Wall Street on Demand and spent the next decade or so exploring the financial industry. A team of 40 designers focused on one sector is an incredible experience. I worked with The New York Times, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, NASDAQ, Value Line, and many others.

Outside the design world, I am a proud dad and a self-proclaimed 80-year-old man. You will find me riding my bike around Denver, stopping at local coffee shops and breweries, or exploring our fabulous museums and parks with the family. Being the kiddo of two librarians, I love to read. I am curious, and if we go on a walk, expect me to point out random things I notice, such as the beautiful sidewalk stamps found in Denver. I also might stop to take a photo of a bicycle!
